Designed to bring back the simple pleasure of phone calls, this system offers a Smart Call Blocker that lets you block nuisance callers on the spot with one touch. It can filter robocalls and unwanted calls while allowing welcome calls to get through. For screening out robocalls, it can be set to ask the callers to press the pound key, and for screening out unknown callers, it can be set to ask the callers to record their names and press the pound key. After the caller completes the request, the phone rings and announces the caller's name, allowing you to choose to block or answer the call, or forward it to the answering system.
The system also features the ability to program eight frequently dialed phone numbers and attach a photo to each one for convenient speed dialing. Setting up the digital answering system is made easy with talking prompts that walk you through the process, allowing you to be confident it's ready to record up to 22 minutes of incoming messages, outgoing announcements, and memos. The system also allows for slow playback, selective save or delete, and skipping or repeating messages from the handset and base, as well as remote access to listen to messages.
The large, orange-lighted display is designed for easy reading, even in darker places. The buttons are generously sized, measuring 15 x 12 mm, with a 3 mm gap in between, making them easy for elderly fingers to target and press. You can choose whether the digits are announced whenever you press the number keys, providing an additional level of insurance to help the elderly dial the correct number and reduce the chance of misdialing.
The Audio Assist feature can temporarily increase the overall volume by up to 50dB and enhance sound frequencies that make speech easier to understand. It's easy to use, with just one press of a button on the right side of the handset. The volume control key, set on the handset's upper right side and the right side of the base unit, is a large shaft key that slides upward or downward, a design particularly helpful for the elderly whose sense of touch may have weakened over time.
Unlike mobile phones with smaller, flat, and easily heated earpieces, this phone's extra-large ear cup is designed for hearing comfort during longer conversations. The roomy ear cup is also ideal for hearing aid users. The equalizer button on the left side of the cordless handset lets you instantly change the incoming voice level to a lower or higher frequency to best suit your hearing preference.
The speakerphone allows for conversations that are more true to life, with both ends able to speak and be heard at the same time. The Audio Assist/SOS button on the cordless handset can function as an emergency button, allowing you to quickly page other system devices in the house and call preset external numbers for help. The system is secured by a line power mode, so in the event of a power outage, the corded handset can still be used to place and receive calls, with no batteries necessary.
For added safety measures, you can add an audio doorbell, a remote telephone ringer, or a wearable SOS button to the system, which supports up to 30 total devices. The system's Smart Call Blocker allows you to say goodbye to unwanted calls, with robocalls on your landline automatically blocked from ever ringing through, and the ability to permanently blacklist up to 1,000 numbers with one touch.
